Throughout her 29 years of experience, she has observed that there is a significant need for a center that can cater to the needs of all children and not exclude children with disabilities without requiring them to be removed or accepted elsewhere. Her vision was to open a center where they can ensure that all children can use their God-given abilities to the fullest. To accomplish this, they plan to offer childcare, social skills, life skills, behavior interventions, and academics. The center will also provide additional outside therapies, such as speech, physical, and occupational therapy, all in one building so parents don’t have to run all around to get the essential care and therapies needed. Parents will be able to drop off their children for the day, and their children will receive all of the services they may need. Touched by an Angel will also assist parents with parent training and other helpful training to further navigate their child’s needs. Shawanza’s aim for the center is to be a “One Stop Success!”
